PARALLEL MADNESS are Varun Raman & Tom Hancock, a screenwriting and filmmaking duo based in Bristol, UK.
TRANSMISSION is their first short on 35mm film. Now it’s complete and about to embark on a festival run, they will again pick up their pens and write a couple of original feature screenplays in the new year.
The first one: a New York-set anti-rom-com, provisionally called FUCKED UP – a subversive yet affectionate take on a single girl, hitting her mid-thirties, and living in the big city.
The second one: GOOD TIME CHARLIE – a film that can best be described as an orgiastic amalgamation of The Big Lebowski, The Long Good Friday and Carlito’s Way.
After that, they plan to shoot the next short, MI CASA ES SU CASA – a peek behind the charade of masculine charm and civility.
Varun & Tom were first commissioned by Blue Shadows Films’ Merlin Merton (Butterfly Kisses, Crystal Bear, Berlinale 2017) to write their first feature screenplay, which they now plan to develop into a long-form television series.
They have a website on which they share what they appreciate, respect and enjoy:
